It's the end of summer, and the narrator is excited to be able to spend more time with mommy. He's also excited about the fact that he's going to go to a summer festival with his friend, eiji. The narrator is bummed that he can't go to the festival with eiji because she's pregnant, but he doesn't want to be alone with his mom. He tells the narrator to chill out, because it's time for him to "move on." The narrator tells us that he hasn't been able to find anyone to move on with, and that he thinks he'll have to "ask them out sometime" . Eiji's mother is a "good woman" , and she invites the narrator over for dinner, but the narrator says he'd rather not go, since he've been so popular lately. She also asks why he turned down her invitation to dinner, since eiji is such a good woman. She's not the only one who's been snubbed by the narrator lately, though: "Whispering - um - you're cooking on a homemade basis ! . . and whisper whispering good at cooking ! and whisper whisper how far did u two get ? . how did you and eiji get ?" The narrator says that they haven't even gone on a date, because they're both too busy cooking to go out on a proper date. He also says that eiji seems to be "neurotic" lately, and he thinks that's why she'd been unable to find a man for herself lately. He asks the narrator if he can "help" him out.
