The scene opens with the sound of a thud, followed by a sigh. The narrator tells us that he's just returned from his mission. He's been followed back home by two men, and they've been following him around like a "sleepy beauty" . He asks if they're sleeping beauty, and the two men reply that they haven't been sleeping beauty ever since he saw him. He also asks why the guy hasn't woken up yet, and then he asks if she'd like to have some wine with him. She says no, and he says he'd rather die than repay her sin with death. He says that if he gets his mission over, he'll "punish myself with death" , and that's all he can do. He can't believe that the family is still waiting for him. The voice of his mom is heard, and it's the voice of the "father" of the family. It's her voice, and she tells him to come in, because she's really worried about her daughter. She kisses her, and says that she was worried when she was away, too.
