About This Chapter
In this short scene, we learn that King Arara once ruled over the kingdom of Ur, which is now in Germany. Arara's son, Prince Arara, is now a bishop in Ur, and he laments the fact that the kingdom has been sealed off from the outside world for so long. He also laments that Arara has not been able to find a single thing in Ur that is worth anything to him. He wonders if there might be some things in the ruins that are worth a little money. The archeologist, who has been searching for Ur for years, comes upon the tablet. He asks the commissioner if he can arrange transportation for his men and equipment from his camp in Jableh to the dig site. The commissioner says that he has been funding the dig team with state money, but that they will not say a word about it. He tells the commissioner that the holy man had indeed visited Ur and that he is sending him an object as valuable as it is. He says that the archeologist is already at the site and that they have to act quickly.
