The sulidoror asks Gundy what drives him to be reborn. Gundy tells him that he is leaving his old body behind as a "gift to the planet" . He tells Gundy to translate what he has to say to the sulidor and to each of his own. He says that they will "shred you to pieces" if they hear what he says to them. He wants to apply "naggiar venom" to their wounds. He thinks that there must be "gallons" of it in the caves. He wonders if there is a way to apply it to the wounds of his friend. He asks if he can spare him the "morality speech" , but Gundy says that he will be the "fucking elephant" if he does not hurry up. He and Gundy are on their way to the gakh. He feels like he is on a very long journey, but he tells her that the order of things has been restored to the cave. He explains that the two intelligent species are one, and that during the rebirth ceremony they go from one place to another. He hopes that this means that Gundy will be able to help him and Sam get back to the earth.
