Back on Belzagor, Philp and Laura are still on their way to the "mist country" . Philp tells Laura that they're going to die if they don't stop. He tells her that he's going to kill her if she doesn't come back to work. He's not going to let her go. He says that he has changed, and that he thought he was coming back to be with her. But now, he says, he has a problem. He wants to know if she's married to Konstantin, but Konstantin never paid much attention to him. Konstantin's disease is incurable, and he wants to become a "nildor" , which is a term used to describe a person who has a disease that's completely incurable. The mist country is a sulidor territory, which means that Konstantin wanted to settle there in the first place. He didn't pay any attention to Philp's research, and Philp is sick of it. The next day, he asks if they should be allowed to go through a rebirth.
