About This Chapter
Arinori is worried that his daughter is being held captive by the shinobi, but she assures him that she is not. She says that she will return with her sister to kill the bodies and dismember them. Akemi tells her sister that they must act quickly before the flames reach their quarters. She tells her that the fire symbolizes rebirth and that she must act before her sister sees her brother. He says that the only hope for shinnosuke was that he might be able to recognize his sister. In that moment, the last part of his soul turned to ashes and the fire began to spread. He tells his sister that he will slaughter them all like dogs and that he must protect her future marriage to the shogun. She hastily leaves the hell and thinks about what to do next. Fudo tells her everything and tells her to have her head cut off and to remove her mask. He then says that he has already removed his mask and that his eyes are shining with joy. He asks his sister what she has done and she tells him that he is playing with fire. He feels guilty, she says, but he feels not guilty as she did.
