The Dean's office. Clack welcomes the professor. He wants to talk to him, but the professor has not yet made an appointment to meet with him. He tells Clack that he has investigated the relationship between the two of them and found that many of the students have been kicked out of the school because of it. He asks Clack to help him in his quest to be an honor student, and Clack agrees. He says that if the professor can give him what he wants, he will receive more than he expected. The professor tries to leave, but Clack says that he is expecting a guest and that he would like to be allowed to go. He is glad that the professor is such a trash, because she would have been just right to "fool around with" and "throw her away" like a "trash." The professor tells him that Sookhee is still sleeping, and that she should go wake her up and say hello to everyone. He then asks if she is still sick, and she says that she is.
