About This Chapter
The next couple of days are spent with the family, and the narrator tells us that he's going to visit the cows. He's also going to take care of his grandma, who's in the hospital, and he'll come back tomorrow to plant some seeds for the garden. The next day, he tells us, they're going to go to the stable and check on the stable's stablemate, who was in there when the earthquake struck. The narrator tells the family that the monster, namazu, is holding all of Japan, and that the god, kashima, always calms him down after an earthquake. He tells them to stay with their grandparents and not to call for help. He also tells them not to worry about their children, who live in Tokyo now, because the house is okay, and they'll be fine.
