Back at the beginning of the chapter, the Governess is trying to figure out what's going on in her story. She can't seem to get the plot to move forward, and she's having sex again. The Governess tells herself that she'll just have to go for a walk and eat some energy drinks. She's not used to walking around without purpose, so she decides to go to a nearby cafe. The man at the cafe tells her that he's been invited to a signing event soon, and he'd like to invite her to lunch. He also tells her about a scene in the next story in which the main character is eating lunch with two cats, and the narrator is playing with them. The narrator tells the man that he should order the omelet, since it's too small for the cat's image, but the man says he'll order it anyway.
