In this chapter, we learn that Mr. Wolf has fallen in love with a fated female wolf, whom he calls "abuku love." The two men argue about whether or not they should form a sexual relationship, and the wolf admits that he does not believe in "fated pairs." He says that it is rare to meet fated partners, and that they might be in conflict with one another, but that they should not force it on each other.
