This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between the dog and his master. The dog tells his master that he belongs to a "guard dog" and that his master's mother was a lover of the dog. He tells the dog that his mother died when he was seven years old and that she was "so kind and beautiful." The dog then tells the master that the reason he is so thirsty is because he has "phero mones" , which are "the reason I get so much / Attention from the / I need to / ingest semen." He asks the dog if there is a place where he can "do these things together," and the dog replies that there is, but that he doesn't know how to do it.
