They found the book, and the narrator is glad that they liked it so much that they've become good friends. He also tells the narrator that he'd like to come over and watch the movie adaptation of the book with him. He tells the girl that he saw the movie the other day, and it was a disaster. The girl laughs and says that she can't stand it when people laugh at her like that. She asks the narrator if she can go out with him, and he tells her that he likes someone else. She wonders why he didn't tell her this before.
