About This Chapter
The Governess and the Governess go to the theater to see the play "The Merchant of Venice" . When they arrive at the theater, they find that Miss Yeonhwa has passed away and that her father has not yet died. The two decide to go upstairs to find out what has happened to Miss Yeons life. Miss Yeonghwa tells them that she has lost many of her childhood memories and that she does not remember the piano that she used to play with her father. The governess tells Miss Yesonhwa that she is sorry that she cannot be by her father's side. She says that she wants her father to be tormented and that he should be tormented as much as she can. She also says that without him, her sister and father would not have been hers. She tells the audience that she knows the feeling of having one's own existence denied and that it tortures her.

About This Chapter
