About This Chapter
This chapter opens with a conversation between the president and the vice president. The vice president tells the president that his granddaughter is learning a lot from troy. The president tells him that it is an honor for him to have such close relationship with troy and that he likes this. He also says that he thought he would be cold and authoritarian, but the president replies that he was surprised that he consented to the engagement. He says that it was not because he had someone else on his mind, but because she had someone "more precious to her." He says he will wait for the marriage to break up so that he can make her happy. He then says that the era of the president is over, and that the "internal resistance" of vampires is "severe." He adds that he is ready to fight vampires any time.
