The next day, the senior class gathers to hand out their diplomas. The narrator laments that he hasn't yet decided what to do with his life. He's already decided that he's going to go to college. He welcomes his brother, Yuusuke, back to the school, and asks him how his friend, Minamizuki, is doing. He also asks about the other student, Juman, who's been studying hard. Juman asks if he'll be going to school on the same day as him, and the narrator tells him that it's a good thing that they're going to the same school because they would have been the same class if they hadn't been born a few days apart. He tells Juman that he doesn't drink, and that he has always wanted to spend time with his older brother. He asks Juman if he could possibly come to get him, but Juman says that it felt like an "irrevocable force" , and he worries that his brother is mad at him. He admits that he still has a crush on his brother and that they have years ahead of them.
