Five minutes before the club activities start, the library announces that it will be holding a brief one-to-two-minute "broad cast" . It is Hiroshi's turn to speak, and he tells his friend that he loves the voice of the sage over the intercom. He tells her that he has heard her speak in person, and that they are in the same class year. She tells him that she has heard him speak in class before, but that he does not give girls time of day. She says that she would never have seen him speak to anyone if he did not glare at her. She asks him to return the books she has borrowed, but he says that they must wait a few days for the books to be checked out. He asks her to write her name and class on a piece of paper, and she gives it to the librarian. Hiroshi says that he is glad she is there, because she gets to know him better, and they get to talk about books together. He says that even though he tries to talk to her, she knows how to respond, and so he talks because he likes to talk. They are still waiting for him to speak.
