About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that the ten-mei family has strict rules about how to raise a child. The bride and groom are supposed to practice raising a child in the house before the wedding day, so that they're ready for the big day. The narrator says that he and the groom are nervous because they've never raised a child before. He asks the groom if he's nervous too, and he says he is. The two of them decide to do their best to raise the child, and the narrator says he'll do his best, too. He says that the groom is the one who is most troubled by the situation, and that he wants to make sure that the child is raised well. He tells the narrator to take deep breaths, to take slow breaths, and to take small amounts of time to be sorry. He then asks the girl if she's tired, and she says she is. She says that she doesn't feel like she has to rush the wedding, since she'd rather not. She tells the girl that she used to be pretty when she was a girl, and asks if it's true that she was super manly back then. The girl says that it was true, but that she hasn't been as manly since then. She asks if she can hear stories about her childhood, and when the girl says yes, the girl asks what she should do. She then asks her to write the character three times, and then she says, "I'm good." The girl is happy to hear that she is not scared of the boy anymore.
