The next day, the girls head back to the beach for a day of fun. The narrator asks the girls what they're going to do for the rest of the day, and the girls tell him that they'll be going to a summer festival and ice cream social. They also tell the narrator that they haven't seen each other in a long time, and that it's time for them to get back together. The girls are psyched to be back together, but the narrator doesn't know what to make of it. He's not sure if the festival means anything to him, and he wonders if he's feeling happy right now.
