The girl tells the narrator that she did not tell her family that she was returning to school because she felt like they did not like her. The narrator tells her that she earned the title of "the shyest girl in school" after this incident, and she tells the girl that she will wear a normal hairstyle the next day. She also tells the young woman that she likes pretti purple, and the girl says that she does not like pretti. The young woman says that her hair tie is cute, but she pricks her hair to find out what happened to it the day before. She asks the girl if she watched pretti cure her hair the other day, and he says that he did. She says that the girl does not make friends in school, and that the other students were interested in her appearance. She adds that she would like to go see her family, but that there is nothing she can do about it now.
