Chapter 1: The Not-So-Terrible Two's
This is a locked chapterChapter 1: The Not-So-Terrible Two's
About This Chapter
The chapter opens with the narrator asking the audience what they're going to do after hearing the apple sing. They'll clap and say, "Oh, clap, clap." The narrator tells the audience that he's just started "bragging away" as soon as he got to the theater. He's not exactly the baby he was expecting. The baby is gray-skinned and looks like a "gray-skinned kid" with a face that looks like it's "opening his eyes" . The narrator's love for the kid is so strong that she's even married to a guy who works from home. The boy is named Doobiedoo, and the narrator describes him as a "captain besides" , a "collector of anime prints, music, and post cards." Doobiedoodle is also a super-talker, which the narrator doesn't realize is a big deal at the time. After the doctor tells him to be quiet, doobiedoodle starts to play with the other kids in the neighborhood, and eventually, he becomes his play buddy.
