The Governess sits and stares at her lover, who is always "shine and skin too" . She can't stop staring at him, and she promises to wipe his mouth for him if he tries to kiss her. He tries to squeeze her, but she doesn't seem to want to do it. He tells her that she's bleeding, and he hopes she realizes that he's dug his own grave.
