About This Chapter
Everyone on the boat has disappeared, except for Gadani, who is still missing. Gadani asks if the statue of Tostes is familiar, and the captain replies that it is. The captain tells Gadani to watch his temper, as he is still on trial, and that he might want to rethink what he is thinking. The two men discuss what they have taken from the fishing boat, and Gadani tells the captain that his students are studying "archaeology." Gadani says that he does not trust the two men, as they have weapons and are not giving him a choice. He says that the bronze swords used by ancient Greek soldiers are too old for him, and he cannot shoot them in the eye. He asks Gadani if he has an idea.
