In the midst of the battle, Kenzo kami says that he is ready to face the "vengeance of the ice- forest" , but that he does not know what is going on below. He fears that ryin will return and try to kill him, but he will not be defeated by the "parasites" of the forest. Kenzo asks who kawakami is, and his father replies that he killed Gombel , and that Kenzo is the "fat sods son" . He asks Kenzo to surrender himself, but Kenzo refuses, saying that he has been defeated and that it is time for him to die. He tells Kenzo that he wants to see the child that he once knew. He says that she was blinded by love and devotion, and she was able to cultivate the flowers with such devotion. She finally saw a boundless expanse as fresh and soft as silk. She saw that she belonged to her father, and finally to a husband. She asks him to help her father to end his "corrupted existence" so that she too may be reborn.
