In this chapter, we learn that iblis has come to destroy the human race, just as he did when he defeated the seven-headed serpent in the garden of Eden. This time, however, he's joined forces with a "creature of mud" . He's not going to kill his brothers, he tells us, but he does want to show that "weak mortals really are." The only way to stop him, he says, is to die.
