About This Chapter
Pabloeda, the commander of the 7th brigade, tells the assembled soldiers that the battle will be over within a few weeks. He tells them that they have "blown the mutants to hell" and that they will have to "exterminate them" before they can do any more damage. He says that he has three reasons for inviting the reporter to the meeting: 1) he was the first to contact the mutants, 2) he chaperoned the two journalists to the interview sites, and 3) he is the only one to have direct contact with the alpha target. He also tells the story of how the reporter met the prince and how half of the country saw the prince. He adds that the minister of the interior has granted amnesty to professor Golemans, who is being held in house arrest. He then tells the reporter that he went to the prince's palace with the reporter, and the prince told him that some of the rebels can fly. Pabloida tells the man that he is a comedian and that he will hunt the rebels down until there are no more fighters left.
