About This Chapter
Wakana is reading a new "true horror" bulletin board when he hears the voice of a girl who he thinks has committed suicide. She comes out of a tunnel and attacks him. A man shows up and tells him to jump into a photo booth, but he doesn't do it. Since then, he's been looking for the man in the subway. Wakana asks the man's name, and the man tells him that his name is "waka chan" , which means "ghost" in Japanese. The man then tells Wakana that the train will be leaving for two minutes, so he can find the man he wants to see. He tells the man to hurry back to the station, because the girl he thought had killed herself is still inside the train. He asks for water and someone to help him breathe. He's panting and needs help. He wants to die, he says, and he wants his daughter to be safe. He curses the man for not being able to save them, but then he realizes that he has a gift, but curses its uselessness. He wonders if he can use his power to help the girls find their way back to safety.
