In this chapter, the protagonist tells his tale of woe. He is a retired policeman who is now a reporter. One day, he orders some food from a restaurant, but when he goes to pick it up, he discovers that the food has mysteriously disappeared. The police arrive and find the four dead bodies. This is the first time that the police have declared a case of "paranormal"
