After dark, the gang interrogates the young man about his strange dream the night before. The young man confesses that he had a nightmare in which he saw a man following him. The police ask him what the dream was about, and he says that it was about a girl who was murdered six days ago. The policeman tells him that the girl was murdered by an eyewitness who saw her pass by the men's loos in the park that night. The girl's killer must have seen her, the policeman says, and the girl must have been mistaken for the killer
