The first person introduces himself as "Ganymede," and the second person as "1-1." Ganymede tells the audience that he is an orphan who has been living in the same apartment as the "little orphan" who burned to death in the fire. He has come to beg for water, and the first person is sorry that he did not leave him a drink. The second person says that she did not want to ask him for a drink because she was afraid that he would get angry if she did.
