In this chapter, the monster explains how he and his friends killed Jack. He tells us that they were planning to meet with the monster, but that time ran out and they didn't want to disturb the peace. He says that he smelled the blood when he saw Jack's head. He asks why they did it, and the answer is that they wanted to kill him. He begs them to leave him alone, but they refuse.
