About This Chapter
"Welcome to secrets" is the title of this chapter's opening scene. It's the first time we've heard the phrase "welcome to secrets," so we're guessing it's not a good one. We're not sure what to make of it, but we do know that this is the first of many times that we'll hear this phrase in the book. The narrator tells us that the narrator's job is to find out who is the "wcredible" and who is going to make the secret known to the rest of the world. He's going to tell us who he is, and then he'll tell us what he's up to. So, the narrator opens the chapter by saying that he has a secret that he'd like to share with you. He wants you to know that he doesn't want anyone to hurt anyone, and he wants to tell you that he isn't here to kill anyone. He just wants to share a secret with you, and that's why he calls you "Martin." He wants to know if you're still with the family, and if they haven't left him a message. He also wants to ask you if he has an appointment with the boss. He says that he hasn't, but that he always finds time to do so. He asks if there's anything in the music exec's initials on both of his arms that he can use as a partner. The music exec is cool, he says, and it'd be cool if he could have a partner for him. He then asks if she's still with him, and she says that she can be. He tells her that when he shot the man on the big screen, it triggered
