This chapter opens with a description of the formation of the army. It consists of 2000 cavalry, 1000 infantry, and 1000 light cavalry. The narrator tells us that he was walking on the fortress wall when he saw some troops from the West side. He tells his uncle that they need his help in defending themselves against the troops led by Lord Kure. He also tells him that the ratio of the troops on his side is one to one.
