In this chapter, we are introduced to a new character named Bo55. He is a student at the University of California, Berkeley. He has become a regular customer at the local coffee shop, where the owner, Tamura, is also a frequent customer. Bo55 has noticed Tamura's attentions and has begun to pay more attention to her. Tamura confesses that he is not as popular with Bo55 as he is with the other students at the school, and that he wishes he knew his name at least. He tells Tamura that he has been asked many times to deliver love letters to him, but that if he is still in college, he will not be able to do so because he will be graduating and entering the work force shortly. He says that he does not ask Bo55 for his contact information, but merely that they can still meet after he graduates. He also says that even after Bo55 graduates, they will still be in contact. The owner of the coffee shop says that his lecture has been temporarily suspended, but he is welcome inside if he would like. He adds that he would love to sell the shop, but is not sure about doing so yet. He explains that his father ran the shop as a hobby, but when he decided to close it down, he took over the business. He praises Bo55's cute face, saying that he knows the real reason for his frequent visits to the shop.
