The narrator tells us that he's on his way to the "home of the red-sox-new-england-patriots" . He's going to see a bunch of movies and hang out with some friends. He wants to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city, so he decides to go for a drive. The narrator is bummed out that he has to go see another show in a couple of days, but he wants to enjoy the drive. He tells the narrator that he used to be on the bad side of the law, so it's not fun to be stuck in the middle of it. He asks the narrator if he can take a day off tomorrow, and the narrator says he'll do whatever he can to make it a "quiet one" , so they'll just have to drive up to the coast and chill out for a little bit. We're not sure what that means, but it sounds like the narrator is psyched to be back on the good side of law. We also learn that the narrator's friend, Loki, is hanging out with the artist, and Loki tells the artist to "come on loki" and "be nice" to her. Loki is a stray cat that the artist took care of, and she's a good friend of the artist's. The two of them decide to buy a painting together, and loki gives the artist a commission to paint a portrait of her.
