In this chapter, the protagonist is introduced to a new character. He is introduced as the "beautiful editor" of the company's Southern branch. The protagonist is shocked to learn that the new editor is actually the "prettyest new media editor" in the company. He also learns that the boss of the southern branch has criticized the protagonist for not being "cute and non-competitive" enough.
