Mr. K's son comes to visit his sister, who is now at the mental hospital. He tells her that his father is insane and refuses to sleep or eat if he cannot see her. He says that his son will return to China next month and that the blood relation will not be cut off because of hatred. He also says that he never wants to see his son again. He then tells his son that he better fulfill his promise to get married and that what is meant to happen will happen, but he did not expect it to happen so quickly. He asks when he woke up and tells him that compromise means you will sacrifice even more. He goes on to say that if a person cannot decide their future, they are just like animals. He reminds his friend that she is getting married and asks him if he was serious when he said that she was getting married. He replies that he was acting and that he too has been acting with the idiot. He adds that if he does not tell his friend now, he will not have any more chances.
