In this chapter, we learn that Dr. Lornd and Dr. Lifto23 have been working together in the university's think tank since their freshman year. They've been working on a device that can take out enemy devices. They were roommates at the university, so they've known each other since they were in college. They joke about how they're the only two people in the room, and how they were brought to the university because the suits there said they'd be able to control Dr. Lavin. They build a smart phone with the brain scanner, and then use it to hack into people's brains.
