Carrara tells Alek that he has invited Alek to the opening ceremony of the Venice Carnival. Alek is excited, but he has to try on some of the costumes he will wear to the festival. He tells Carrara that he likes the plague mask he is wearing, which is modeled on the clothes of plague doctors.
