The hall of records opens with a conversation between the two women. The two women are discussing the fact that they have arrived at the Hall of Records. The first woman complains that she has been waiting for a long time for them to arrive, and the second woman complains about the lack of magic in the hall. She says that the other women are not aware of the potential of the hall, and that they should not be worried about it. She tells the first woman that she and the other woman are going to watch a demon fight another demon. The second woman tells the third woman that the fight is going to be a fight between a demon and a human. The third woman says that she will leave immediately, and then she tells the woman that her human friend is dead. The woman says she will check the registry to see if she is still alive. The man says he will not be staying, and he will leave the next day. He says that he can conjure many more spells and that the woman will have no choice but to leave him. He tells her that he has searched the hall and found many of the books that he was looking for, but he does not know how many of them would have been useful to them. He wonders if it is possible that they will find all of them, and wonders if they will be able to use them in the fight. He points out that there are ways in which human beings can assist in the creation of demon magic.
