About This Chapter
In this short scene, we get a brief glimpse of what it's like to be a part of the underground music scene. It's not like you're just hanging out at a club. You're a member of the jungle crew, and you've got all the coolest chicks hanging out with you. You know, the kind of chicks who don't want to hang out with a dude who's broke and doesn't even have a job. So, you know, you can't hang out at the club with the dudes who aren't working for the label anymore. That's right, the dudes that work for the jungle label are now working for other labels. And they're not even paying rent on their new digs. They're stealing all the money from the other artists on the label, who've all moved out of the city and are now living off of the profits from the jungle labels they've been working for. The dude who works for the new label is named "true epic" , and he's got a message for the dudes at the label. He's going to tell them all about what's been going down at the new jungle label, and then he'll take them to the priest's underground tunnel, where they'll be able to find out who is behind all of this. He also tells them about the laney truck, which is supposed to be late every week for their weekly meetings, but apparently the guy is out of town, so they'd better keep an eye on it. And then he tells them that he found the underground tunnel and that the priest has a system for keeping track of underground tunnels. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. He adds that the underground tunnels were used back in the day by Prince Balla and Dolo, who used to work at the old label. And now, he tells us, they are back.
