About This Chapter
It's been a while since we've heard from the narrator, but he's back. He's still hanging out with celia, and she's offering to show him how to read his cards and tell his own future. He doesn't really know how to do that, but it's fun. He asks celia if she'd like to keep doing it, and celia says she'll just ask her about her family if she needs any help. She's a fortune teller, after all, so she knows what's going on with her customers' fortunes. The narrator thinks that celia's fortune-telling business is a scam, and that all of her customers are "villains" . He wonders if celia might be able to keep working with him, but celia insists that she can't, because all of their customers are liars and cheaters. She says that all her customers made their lives out of lying, cheating, and lying, and all of them made their fortunes out of cheating, lying, or lying again. She thinks that's why the card was meant for her, but that she'm not that lucky or lucky enough to have it. She feels like things have been "pretty crazy" lately, but they're not for her. She has fun, and learns a lot, but she thinks that life isn't for her . She even helps arolind with his chores, and he shows her some of his stuff. He thinks that what makes him special is not fitting in as a pirate, a shipmate, or a fortune-teller.
