In this short scene, Roxane laments the fact that she has been ignored by Corin and the others at the castle party. She feels that she is being ignored because she is not "refined" enough to be accepted by the others. Roxane tries to cheer her up by pointing out that they are in the forest and that they have made their way to the castle. When Roxane asks where her house is, she is told that it is in the castle grounds. When she asks where the party is being held, the party hostess tells her that she will be welcomed to the party. As Roxane is about to dance with the others, she notices that the girl she is dancing with has a sad expression on her face. She is so impressed by the girl's dancing that she cries out in joy. When the others learn that the party has already ended, she exclaims that it must have been a dream.
