About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's going to spend the night in a hotel with some of his friends. He's worried that his dad won't come over to see him. He asks if he can walk him home. The narrator says that they're still high school friends, but that they shouldn't be doing stuff like kissing and holding hands until they graduate. He says that he and his dad have learned their lesson, and that they should stop doing things like holding hands and kissing until they've graduated. He tells his dad that he needs to use a stool to get some exercise. He also tells him that he hasn't been seeing him much lately, since he doesn't get to see his dad often enough. He adds that his father used to be a "weak willed man" who would blame others for his family's problems. He used to pick on his own family for their problems, and his mom wouldn't pay any attention to him. So he had to leave his parents' house and move away from his dad. He wanted to be alone again, but he also met people who were grossed out by his presence.
