He explains that he works as a cheerful salesman in the Tokyo area, and he is looking for someone to satisfy himself with. He is interested in medicine, quantum mechanics, and space, but he has had no luck finding anyone to satisfy his needs. He wants someone to "treat" him to dinner, but the narrator tells him that he should treat her to dinner tonight, because he has a mistake to correct. He admits that he was warned not to "stab" with his chopsticks, and that he can no longer see the man who broke up with him.
