In this chapter, we learn that Hiroshi's employer, the department chief, has introduced Hiroshi to his prospective wife. Hiroshi, however, has not yet met his wife's husband, and he does not know how to handle her company's disapproval of his homosexuality. He does not want her to think that he is trying to threaten her, but rather that he wants her to know that he loves her and will love her all his life.
