The scene shifts to the Bath Room, where the Governess is preparing to go to bed. She is overcome with emotion as she realizes that she is in love with the man who has just run away from her. She realizes that he is still on guard, and she tells him that she will stop him if he tells her that he has run away. She tells him to kiss her, and he does so.
