The Governess is late for work, but she's glad to see that the teacher is there. She's worried that the Governess will be jealous of the teacher and that she'll lose interest in her. She tries to comfort her by saying that she doesn't want to hurt the feelings of the other students. She also tries to cheer her up by telling her that the other girls are doing well in school and that they're doing better than they were before. She tells her that she hopes they'll continue to do well.
