Back in the snow, the two of them talk about the snow world. The narrator says that he has something important to say to Haruki, and Haruki agrees. He says that if Haruki will have him, he wants to live with him in his house. Haruki says that his apartment is mostly a place for storing his equipment, and that he only came back to the town to do his work for the animals. If Haruki lives in the house, he will no longer be a guest, and he and the narrator will become housemates. The two decide that they will make a room for themselves in Haruki's house and call it "narumi" .
