New Year's Eve arrives, and Haruki welcomes the new year with open arms. Haruki asks if he can look at some of the photos he took in the previous year, and he says that he's looking forward to taking some of them with him for a vacation. He's glad that the winter has been so long, because he feels like he hasn't been able to enjoy life as much as he used to. He wonders if he'll be able to take Haruki out for a week to take some photos, and then he can come back to the house and enjoy himself. He wants to go somewhere where he can eat some good food, have some fun, and make some memories. He doesn't want to feel like he has to rely on anyone else for his daily needs. He also wants to be free from the "back ground" of Haruki's house, which is always the same place. He says that if he had to live with someone else every day, he wouldn't be as happy as he is. He feels spoiled when Haruki says, "welcome back" to him, and that's the reason he ran away from Haruki. He hopes that Haruki is okay, but that he never comes back.
