The next morning, Hiroshi and Tokiyama go for a walk, and Hiroshi tells Tokishima that he has heard that Hiroshi is in love with a senior woman at his university. Hiroshi says that he does not know what to make of this news, since he has not heard anything about it from Hiroshi himself. He then goes on to say that the senior woman is probably a "beauti ful" woman, meaning a mature woman, who is attracted to a man of his social class. He says he would like to be a partner for her, but he knows that she is not interested in such a man. As they walk back to his apartment, the two men discuss the news of Hiroshi's new love.
